ENEEP application requirements
The ENEEP platform offers three distinct types of educational activities:
- Group education activities, organized as a course with pre-determined content – ENEEP package courses,
- Group education activities, organized on the basis on the applicants’ requirements – ENEEP custom courses,
- ENEEP Individual education activities.
ENEEP package courses are particularly targeted at students at the Bachelor and Master education levels, offering a broad selection of topics. Courses are organized on an annual or semi-annual basis for open groups of applicants, restricted to a maximal number of participants in accordance with the possibilities at the ENEEP partner institutions. Applications to ENEEP package courses are collected within predetermined time periods prior to the courses; selection of the applications will be made on the basis of the application review process within ENEEP.
ENEEP custom courses are envisaged as education activities for closed groups, targeted at groups of Master or Doctoral students from one university and/or institution. The activities will be organized in close collaboration with the applicant; no time limits will be imposed on the submission of applications.
ENEEP Individual education activities are intended to satisfy the needs of students and professionals to gain or deepen their knowledge on a specific subject or to gain access to experimental facilities required during the course of their studies. Envisaged examples of such education activities comprise attendance of a student or professional to a dedicated course related to a particular experimental method (e.g. Neutron Activation Analysis – NAA), or to the performance of experimental measurements required in the framework of his/her Master or PhD thesis. No time limits will be imposed on the submission of applications.
The ENEEP platform is open to applicants with background in nuclear science and technology wishing to deepen their knowledge in nuclear science and technology. The platform is also open to applicants who wish to develop multidisciplinary research connecting nuclear science and neutron applications with e.g. natural sciences, social sciences and humanities (e.g. Earth and environmental sciences, medicine, culture heritage sciences, forensics, archaeology, anthropology, security, policy, etc.). For such cases detailed information on the purpose and goals in connection to the application and on the background knowledge will be required to better understand the needs and to adapt the education activities in the best possible way.
A general requirement for the attendance at ENEEP educational activities is a good command of the English language, including the terminology specific to nuclear reactor technology and radiation protection. Activity specific requirements are defined as follows:
